Care for Others

Pursuing tzedek (justice) and tikkun olam (repairing the world) through community service.

"Do not separate yourself from the community." - Pirkei Avot 2:5

JPSA provides programs that care for others, and we magnify our impact by funding dozens of partner organizations, including our five beneficiary agencies, that address critical needs in our community by offering a continuum of services and support.

By leveraging the strength of the Federation network, we also respond to urgent, often unexpected needs worldwide.

Emergent Needs

Ukraine Relief
JPSA quickly responded to the dire need in Ukraine by providing nearly $500,000 in essential funds to our partner agencies on the ground for food, security, temporary housing, and welfare services.
Refugee Resettlement
Hundreds of refugees from around the world resettle in or pass through Pima county each year. They are generously welcomed to our community with meals, housing, healthcare, clothing, and essential services provided by JPSA funding.

Education

Jewish-Latino Teen Coalition

The Jewish-Latino Teen Coalition is a collaborative effort to build bridges between Southern Arizona’s Jewish and Latino communities, explore shared values, work toward mutual goals, appreciate differences, and cultivate future leaders. Each year the coalition is comprised of a diverse group of students from many high schools and backgrounds that commit to months of education to build knowledge and skills for advocacy and leadership. Students participate in weekly meetings and workshops to foster mutual understanding, respect and civic engagement. In addition, students participate in cultural exchange, team building exercises, community service activities, meetings with community leaders, and political advocacy.

Each year the program culminates in a Washington DC experience where students engage with National Advocacy Organizations, lobby members of Congress, explore our nation’s Capital, and continue cultural exploration.

Jewish Education Learning Support

JPSA funds assessments, teacher training, supplies, and other learning support for religious school students enrolled in synagogues across our community.

Be a catalyst for change. Your gift today shapes our shared tomorrow.

Imagine a world where every child has access to education, where every family feels secure, and where Jewish life thrives – this is the world we’re building at Jewish Philanthropies of Southern Arizona. But we can’t do it alone. Your donation, no matter how big or small, has the power to ignite change and make a tangible difference in our community.
